With as many arrests as there has been in the NFL this off season, somebody was due to become a repeat offender.
The winner? Aaron Berry of the Detroit Lions
The details from Detroit Free Press Writer Dave Birkett
Cornerback Aaron Berry was arrested for the second time in a month early Saturday morning and charged with three counts of simple assault for allegedly brandishing a firearm,Harrisburg (Pa.) City Police said.
“Obviously, I’m limited in what I can provide because it’s a pending investigation,” a person answering the phone at the Harrisburg Police Dept. and identifying himself as Cpl. Gautsch said; a Cpl. Kyle Gautsch works for the department. “It looks like he was charged with three counts of simple assault and there was a firearm involved. Any other information would have to be disclosed by our press-release guy.”
This comes just a few days after he had agreed to enter a diversionary program for first time offenders as a result of his first arrest, which was for DUI. The above mugshot is from that arrest, we are waiting to see how the new one compares.
This is the seventh off season arrest for the Detroit Lions. The team released the following statement.
“We are extremely disappointed by the reports involving Aaron Berry, We are currently gathering more information and will have further comment when appropriate.”
