Live television isn’t easy by any means. Mistakes have to be to a minimum because of the fact that you are live to viewers across the country at that very moment.
So yesterday while discussing the NCAA tournament and the 5 vs. 12 match-ups in the bracket, Reece Davis asked Dick Vitale about where potential upsets could come from. Vitale began discussing a California vs. New Mexico match-up that isn’t going to happen. Davis then let Vitale know that match-up didn’t exist and the one Vitale was referencing was actually Cal vs. UNLV. Watch the video below courtesy of DieHard Sport, because the exchange that follows next is funny as Vitale doesn’t realize he is on live TV.
To his credit, Vitale recovered very quickly and the brief awkward moment just ended up being a funny blooper for us to chuckle at.
