The NFL has gone out of its way to protect offensive players over the past few years.  The league is always proposing new rules to make the game safe, and there is a new rule set to be discussed that has offensive players, mainly running backs in an uproar.

The NFL is set to propose a new rule that would penalize ball carriers who drop their heads and lead with the crown of their helmets right before impact with defenders.

Several former and current NFL running backs have voiced their opinion on the rule.  A defensive players is now getting into the fray, and Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas took to his Twitter account to tell running backs to stop complaining about the proposed rule.

Some of the points are valid indeed yes, but I’m not necessarily sure they should be coming from a cornerback, and especially one who hasn’t played in almost two years.
