Group Petitions White House To Make May 20 “Macho Man” Randy Savage Day


Randy “Macho Man” Savage is a wrestling legend, a personality unlike many others in the history of sports.  From the Slim Jim commercials, to his memorable pro wrestling interviews, we all can remember a time we heard his “Ohhh Yeeeea.”

Savage died tragically on May 20 2011, in a tragic car accident, and now a group at want that day to be remembered and celebrated forever.

TMZ is reporting that the group at are petitioning the White House to make May 20 an “official day of remembrance.”

Yes that’s right, they want May 20 to be Randy “Macho Man” Savage day every year.

The petition reads, “Macho Man Randy Savage was a national treasure loved by everyone … no matter if you knew him from Slim Jim commercials or his wrestling career, you felt a deep connection with Savage … keep his legacy alive for future generations to appreciate and enjoy.”

Randy Savage’s brother, Lanny Poffo was more than pleased by the development saying, “The fans will never let Randy Die. He made it cool to love wrestling.”

The group needs 100,000 by April 4 in order to get the White House to review it, so far it’s only got 2,425 signatures.
