J.R. Smith’s season has been as streaky as his shooting. The same can be said about the New York Knicks, who oddly enough seem to thrive when Smith is playing well.
The Atlantic division leaders are in the midst of a 5-game winning streak which doesn’t seem that impressive with the Miami Heat 27-game winning streak still alive, but this team was floundering just over a week ago.
The Knicks are coming off the dismantling of the Boston Celtics last night, who can potentially be their first-round opponents when the playoffs start. And at the end of the third quarter Smith showed his currently hot form dropping 32 points including a buzzer-beating trey from around 30 feet.
