Jason Terry and the Miami Heat have history. Terry was a member of the Dallas Mavericks team that blew a 2-0 lead to the Heat in the 2006 NBA finals, and then went on to lose four straight.
Terry got his revenge when he help the Mavs upset the Heat in the 2011 NBA Finals for the franchises first NBA title. Terry was asked about the Heats current 21 game win streak, and as ESPN Boston reports, “Terry is not really impressed at all.”
“Not really impressed with it or anything that they do,” said Terry, who of course has a history with Miami from his Dallas days when the two teams met in the 2011 Finals. “So, for me, it’s more about what our team is doing and how we’re coming together as a unit.”
Terry is just being his usual stubborn self, because there is now way at all you can’t be impressed by what the Heat have done.
Paul Pierce is aware of long winning streaks, and was on the floor and a member of the team to snap the last winning streak of this length when his big three stop the 22 game win streak of the 2007-2008 Houston Rockets.
“It’s rare when you’ve got a team that plays so well to be able to do that,” said Pierce. “It’s hard not to keep track of it. Anytime you go to NBA.com or ESPN.com, it’s going to be right there. It’s very impressive what they’re doing. It is what it is. But I think they don’t care about the winning streak.”
