New Miami Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace has always displayed a level of swagger and bravado, and he hopes to translate to his new team.
After being introduced to the media Wallace sat down for a discussion with ESPN, and calmly made it known that “he expects the Dolphins to challenge the Patriots for AFC East supremacy from day 1.”
“Hopefully we can compete this year. That’s why we’re in this. We’re in this to compete every year,” he said. “We expect to compete as soon as we step on the field. From Day 1, we’re going to compete with everybody and we’re going to let the chips fall where they will.”
Wallace of course said he was said to leave Pittsburgh, but he’s ready for a new start.
“That’s all I know so it was definitely hard for me [to leave the Steelers]. But as we all know this is a business and you have to make the best decision for yourself. I’m excited to move forward,” he said.
Wallace who already has hung out and had dinner with his new quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, will definitely take the top off opposing defenses, and provide an immediate deep threat.
It will be interesting to see if Wallace can focus on supreme route running, and being consistent going over the middle.
