Pistons Guard and Dunk Victim Brandon Knight Suffers Sprained Ankle
It’s pretty safe to say Brandon Knight is having the worst week ever. After making a costly choice to pick up the weak side defense, which resulted in Clippers DeAndre Jordan snatching the life out of the Knight with a monster dunk, it didn’t take long before Twitter and the rest of the media outlets took part in burying the young guard after that fatal play.
However Knight took it in stride, and still managed to find the humor in the unfortunate situation. Unfortunately his bad luck had no intention in letting up after that game.
Last night during Utah Jazz vs. Detroit Piston game with 8:28 minutes left in the first quarter, Knight tried to drive to the basket against the defense of Jazz guard Randy Foye when he took an awkward step on the ankle, resulting in a sprain injury.
Knight can release a little sigh of relief since X-Rays showed his ankle is not broken.
The Pistons went on to lose the game 90-103, so in hindsight this maybe the best scenario for the young guard. His presence lacking on the court may force the Pistons to actually play defense, in addition the time away from the court may cause the media to forget about that dunk. Then again ask Manny the wound may heal but it will still leave a permanent scar.
X-rays negative on Detroit guard Brandon Knight’s left ankle, but injury appears to be a “significant” sprain, league source tells Y!
