Greg Jennings is having a quiet start to the beginning of the free agency period, and not even Jennings is sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

Several reports are suggesting that after the Dolphins chose Mike Wallace over Jennings, the veteran wide receiver could indeed end up back in Green Bay.

ESPN Wisconsin is reporting that the Packers actually offered Jennings a deal in the $10 million a season range according to sources.

According to one source, the Packers extended an offer to Jennings “a while ago” that averaged roughly $10 million per year, and the other source said Jennings’ agent, Eugene Parker, had been in discussions with the Packers about his possible return.

The Vikings were reported to possibly be a player in the Jennings sweepstakes, but the Vikings have refuted that story.  Jennings during an interview yesterday, seemed confident that he would have his share of suitors.

“I definitely have some destinations in mind and I’m going to keep them close to the vest,” Jennings said. “I’m just enjoying this opportunity to be in free agency. A lot of players don’t get to experience this opportunity, and I’m one that does. So I’m going to embrace the opportunity and take my visits when we get those taken care of and lined up and I’m excited about it.”

Jennings is in no hurry to sign that’s for sure.  His comments to ESPN indicate that he wants to be wined and dined, so he can enjoy the whole free agent experience.

“I want to experience it. I’m not one to jump the gun, I try to look at myself and believe I’m a pretty smart guy,” Jennings said. “I want to weigh out all my options. I want to make sure I end up in a place where my family is going to be happy as well as myself and I can thrive.

“You don’t get to experience this too often. You kind of get this experience coming out of high school, when you’re recruited heavily by colleges. I’m back in that boat again.”
