It seems as if there have been more reports about violence between fans after sporting events in recent months than ever. The newest altercation occurred after last night’s match-up between the Thunder and Lakers at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
According to local police, a man and woman were arguing after Oklahoma’s win against the Lakers when an onlooker intervened. The man’s efforts to protect the woman quickly turned into a fight between the two men. During the fight both men stabbed each other.
The onlooker was taken to a local hospital and is in critical condition, and the other man was taken into police custody with non-life-threatening injuries. The authorities are still investigating the incident, and it is uncertain who instigated the fight.
The rule of thumb is not to intervene in a domestic dispute, but to go find security or call the police. Getting stabbed and putting your life in danger over someone else’s woman is not something you want to do.
