Boxing fans may not be getting the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight that they’ve wanted to see for a decade now but they can be happy because there are talks that a 3rd instalment of the Rios-Alvarado saga is on the way.
ESPN’s Dan Rafael got the scoop from Top Rank CEO Bob Arum himself:
“We’re talking about it, maybe in January, on HBO,” Arum said.
Rios and Alvarado have had up and downs, for Alvarado mainly downs, in their careers since the second instalment of their feud a year and a half ago. Alvarado has lost to Marquez and Provodnikov while Rios lost to Pacquiao and won an ugly fight against Deigo Chaves. The two always bring the best out of each other and fight fans are in for an all out brawl if Arum is able to make the 3rd instalment of this series happen.
