Two brothers, Tamerlan Tsarnaev and Dzokhar Tsarnaev have been identified as the suspects involved in the Boston Marathon bombings. Originally from Chechnya, the two brothers have been living in the United States for roughly ten years.
According to Photoshelter, Tamerlan became a permanent legal resident in the US in 2007, and was aspiring to compete for the United States in the Olympics. In a gallery titled, “Will Box For Passport,” 15 images are displayed with different captions, while Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s partakes in combat sports.
One caption says, “I don’t have a single American friend, I don’t understand them.”
Another photo caption, of a shirtless Tamerlan sparring with an unnamed female, says he is Muslim and “very religious.”
Tsarnaev was a student at Bunker Hill Community College, and represented New England at the National Golden Gloves competition, according to the National Golden Gloves official website.
In 2009, Tsarnaev competed in the National Tournament of Champions in Salt Lake City in the 201-pound division.
As of now, less than seven hours after the FBI released images of the Boston bombing suspects, Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed in a shootout with police, the other remains the target of a massive manhunt.
