You would think people would learn to take any comments Charles Barkley makes with a grain of salt by now. He’s wrong half the time anyway.
Barkley, who is an analyst on TNT’s “Inside the NBA,” has said on many occasions that he doesn’t see the Los Angeles Clippers as true title contenders because they have “no toughness.”
Well, Los Angeles Clippers forward Caron Butler, didn’t take too kindly to the Hall of Famer’s comments but understands that it’s a part of Barkley’s shtick to say outrageous things according to the Jim Rome Show.
“To hear that, that was a slap in the face,” said Butler.
“It was shock television,” said Butler. “Everybody is looking for the shock television and he (Barkley) said that was something on his mind and on his heart.”
The Clippers attained their first division title this season while amassing 56 wins and yet, a lot of pundits don’t quite buy into the possibility that they can be title contenders. If they’re able to get past the very formidable Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, it will go long way in boosting their chances.
