The Chiefs are on the clock, and unlike some of are recent NFL Drafts, they may actually come down to the final seconds on draft day before deciding which player to select.
NFL.com’s Albert Breer is reporting that after conversations with Chiefs GM John Dorsey, the team is narrowed their options with the #1 pick down to four players.
John Dorsey told Breer that the Chiefs plan to make a final decision four days before the draft. He’s reportedly been meeting with head coach Andy Reid three times a day about the pick.
Reid will get even more involved in the process about a week out from the draft. The four options are not clear-cut, but you would have to expect Luke Joeckel and Geno Smith to be the two top names on that list of players.
Other options include Central Michigan left tackle Eric Fisher, and Florida defensive tackle Shariff Floyd.
