Dana White is known for saying anything to promote an up-and-coming fight but his latest statement has raised a few eye brows. White was at the TUF 17 Finale media day in Vegas and said that contestant Uriah Hall is the best fighter to ever compete in the competition. IT’s shocking sure, but even more so because it’s true.
The show has produced 200 fighters and 3 UFC champions, but known have had a run like the 28 year old Hall. Dana summed up Hall’s run through the competition perfectly during his interview with USA Today,
“Every guy Uriah fought wound up in the hospital,”
“The first fight to get into the house, he breaks the kid’s arm. Then he knocks out Adam Cella with an incredible spinning high kick, then he knocks out Bubba McDaniel and then Dylan Andrews had a broken nose. That’s never happened in the history of ‘TUF.’
“He is without a doubt the most-feared guy coming out of ‘TUF.’ Ever.”
Uriah is one of the main draws at this weekends Vegas finale but he isn’t a stranger to the spotlight. He has held a middle weight title in New Jersey and has fought elite MMA fighters before.
“We do have to wait and see, but Uriah does have a lot of experience. And if you look at his losses, one was to Chris Weidman, who’s fighting Anderson Silva in July for the title, and his other loss was to Costa Philippou, who is also legit,”
“No guy has come off any season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ looking as nasty as this guy has. People are on my Twitter saying, ‘This guy should go right to a title shot.’
“All of the fans have super-high expectations for Uriah.” – Dana White
Hall will have his opportunity to close out his magnificent TUF run this Saturday and to make Dana White’s statement a fact.
