Here is the quote, he can’t say he was misquoted, because it was during a radio interview.
“I feel like, you know, everybody is deserving of whatever is given to them,” Ware said on Sirius XM. “But at the end of the day, to me, it’s put up or shut up. I’m just being straight up honest with you. Get out there and be productive, and that’s with any player. Whatever they get, they’re deserving of it. You just got to get out there and play, and I know he can be and will be the quarterback who will take us to the next level.”
Here is what DeMarcus Ware said today.
“Any words [coming out of] your mouth, they automatically are going to twist the words that you [say],” Ware said Sunday night from a charity event to support the North Texas Food Bank.
Now you tell me what exactly was twisted?
He says players deserve whatever is given to them, but they have to put up or shut up after they get paid. He makes a point of saying “I’m being straight up honest with you”, just to make sure his point was clear.
Don’t say something, then when you get backlash, blame the media. No one twisted DeMarcus’ words, they came right out of his mouth clear as day. If you are going to say it, say it with your chest, stop backtracking and making excuses for your own comments. Own it and keep it moving.
