For the third year in Las Vegas, stars united to support Michael Jordan’s Celebrity Invitational. The three-day affair, which was hosted April 4-7, included guests such as, Olympic Champion Michael Phelps, Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, NFL Quarterback Josh Freeman and NBA star Chris Paul just to name a few.
One of the exciting highlights from the star-studded event including NBA star Penny Hardaway’s 40 foot chip shot. Maybe he could help Sir Charles Barkley with his terrible swing.
Proceeds from the charitable tournament will benefit Make-A-Wish, James R. Jordan Foundation, Opportunity Village and Cats Care, the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats’ charity arm.
The 2013 MJCI tourney winners were a pair of St. Louis Cardinals World Series greats: Vince Coleman and Ozzie Smith. The baseball icons split the winner’s check of $40,000 for each of their personal charities.
It’s always nice to see celebrities come together for a cause.
