There is no telling if this scenario is for good press or good will for a former legend, but regardless it’s still a good story. The Associated Press is reporting that Nate Montana, the son of 49ers legend Joe Montana, will participate in local pro day workout for the San Francisco 49ers.
Nate Montana will take part in the afternoon session for draft-eligible players at team headquarters, the person said Tuesday, speaking on condition of anonymity because the list of players hadn’t been announced.
The 23-year-old Montana played college football at four different schools that included Pasadena City College, Notre Dame, Montana and Division II West Virginia Wesleyan, where he finished his career.
At West Virginia Wesleyan, Montana finally got some significant starts, and completed 225 of 436 passes for 2,480 yards and 19 touchdowns with seven interceptions and 12 sacks.
