Kevin Love has had the quintessential nightmare season. He has spent two different stints on the injured list with a broken hand and now, according to the Pioneer Press , the Minnesota Timberwolves power forward will have arthroscopic surgery on his left knee that will bring a definite end to his season .
The surgery, tentatively scheduled for Wednesday in New York, officially ends the season for Love, who had been trying to get back in the lineup after missing 56 games while recovering from a broken right hand.
Love is expected to be sidelined four to six weeks after the surgery. Kahn said the decision was made to “address it now” when Love began to have difficulty running while trying to get in shape for a possible return this season.
Love had been going through individual workouts the past several weeks in an attempt to return to play again this season. Love has not played since the Wolves’ Jan. 3 game at Denver, when he re-fractured the same two bones he originally broke in October while doing knuckle push-ups at his home.
Love will be best served to just get healthy and forget this season ever happened.
