I have to admit, during his younger days, I was a Kobe hater. I didn’t like the subtly arrogant robotic “Jordan-clone” who measured all his answers with the precision of a brain surgeon.
But for the last couple of years, I have come around on Kobe as he has become likeable and ironically enough, more arrogant. Then last night, as Kobe tearfully got through his post game presser after tearing his Achilles against the Warriors, it was hard not to root for him to come back, even if it is for just one more season, at a high level.
Now if that video wasn’t difficult enough to get through, Kobe took to Facebook a few hours ago to vent his frustration and really showed a human side very very different from the younger Kobe we were all accustomed to.
As a fan of great sports, I hope Kobe comes back from this and plays at an elite level, at least for one more season. It has been a tough season in Lakerland, but this just doesn’t seem fair to the sport.
I do love that he signed off as MAMBA OUT.
