I have noticed this over the last couple of days. What happened to Kevin Ware’s leg was tragic and may have long reaching effects on his basketball career, but from the day it has happened, people have capitalized off it.
Specifically, the media and now the University of Louisville. Part of this has been good for Ware, since he is more well-known now, than he ever was when he was healthy, but it is a shame that his gruesome injury is being used for profit.
U of L are selling the tees you see above, for $25 and none of that money goes to Ware, just the university pockets. If they truly wanted to inspire, they should give out the tees for free or have all the proceeds go to a charity not run by Lamar Odom.
*UPDATE*
After media backlash, U of L waived royalties.
