Northern Kentucky University fired Athletic Director Scott Eaton for inappropriate intimate relationships in March. WLWT News 5 is reporting that those indiscretions are now public, and they are juicy.
Eaton was guilty of “inappropriate, intimate relationships with four University employees, including two women whom he supervised,” as well as an affair with a student in a class he taught.
President Geoffrey Mearns sent a letter Friday to Terry Mann, the chairman of the university’s board of regents, saying that Eaton had admitted to “inappropriate, intimate relationships with four University employees, including two women whom he supervised.”
Three of the four women were no longer employed by NKU, Mearns said.
“That type of conduct cannot be tolerated,” Mearns said in a news conference.
Mearns said the violations were uncovered in an independent investigation conducted by outside counsel at Dinsmore and Shohl.
“This was a disappointment. There’s no doubt about it but this is a strong institution with a lot of strong people and that’s what has enabled us to move very promptly to conduct this investigation and has given me the support to take this decisive action because I’m confident that we will continue to be able to move forward,” Mearns said.
The investigation into Eaton’s behavior began in early March after rumors about some his transgressions started to surface.
