Pierre Garcon has been in the NFL 5 years and is spoiled by good quarterback play. Garcon spent his first four season playing with Peyton Manning.
Last season as a free agent, Garcon landed in D.C. just as the Redskins were landing Robert Griffin III. We all know how that season went as well.
After watching RG3 for a full season, Garcon told NFL AM that “Griffin III can be just as good as Peyton Manning.”
“(Griffin) can be just as good as Peyton,” Garcon told “NFL AM” on Thursday.
Garcon called both quarterbacks “natural leaders,” saying they “take control of the huddle, the meetings … and communicate with all the players.”
“Peyton’s very skilled with his arm, Robert is skilled with his arm and his legs, so that’s what makes him more dynamic and more dangerous,” Garcon said, “but they are very similar. … Robert’s going to very good, and just as good as Peyton.”
That’s a crazy comparison and a pressure filled one at that. Say what you want about Manning’s playoff attributes, but he has set the bar for good quarterback play.
