Earlier this month we reported on rumors that Phil Jackson was interested in returning to the NBA in a front office capacity.
According to ESPN.com the Toronto Raptors are set to make a hard push at Jackson to try and hire him as their team president.
Sources told ESPN.com that the Raptors who are run by former Los Angeles-based sports mogul Tim Leiweke, believe that the friendship Jackson and Leiweke have can go a long way in convincing Jackson to join the front office.
source say that Leiweke’s “vision and energy,” will be the main reason Jackson will the offer seriously.
Jackson is a great coach, but it will be interesting to see what his abilities and strengths as a team builder are. Jackson as a team president would only have so much say in what happens on the court.
