Devastating news for Dodgers fans, their $147 million pitcher Zack Greinke will now miss 8 weeks after suffering a broken collarbone in the bench clearing brawl  vs the Padres.

Via CBSSports the right-hander will have surgery to repair his fractured collarbone on Saturday. A rod will be inserted into his clavicle to stabilize and align the fracture. He is slated to miss 8 weeks.

Greinke’s injury occured when Padres OF Carlos Quentin charged to the mound after being plunked, the two had a shoulder-to-shoulder collision.

In the meantime, Dodgers have activated LHP Ted Lilly off the disabled list to fill in for  Greinke. Lilly, too, was nursing shoulder problems.

Huge blow for a team that’s got its sights set on World Series glory.

  1. nba is fixed says:

One hundred and forty seven million reasons why black boys should play baseball instead of football or basketball. Any little boys reading this should know that baseball contracts are guaranteed. If you sign for $147 million dollars, you get $147 million dollars. In football, you can get cut at any time for any reason and the team doesn’t have to pay you. Now you know the knowledge, stop playing football and start playing baseball. More Jackie Robinsons, less JaMarcus Russells!
