Ziggy Ansah’s Mom Was Hoping He’d Get Drafted By A Team In Utah
BYU defensive end Ezekiel “Ziggy” Ansah went from obscurity and never having played football to becoming the #5 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
As we reported a few weeks ago, Ansah was also scheduled to graduate from BYU last night, but instead chose to attend the NFL Draft and shake Roger Goodell’s hand.
Ansah’s mother traveled here all the way from Ghana expecting to see her son graduate. She instead attended the NFL Draft.
She does not know much of anything about football, but was extremely proud that her son was drafted. She just wishes it wasn’t in Detroit.
According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Elizabeth Ansah asked BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall after the Lions selected him, if it was still possible that Ezekiel could also be drafted by a team in Utah.
We all know there are no NFL teams in Utah, but it’s still a cute story.Powered by Sidelines
