De La Hoya says Mayweather vs Guerrero Winner Will Fight Canelo or Khan (Video)

As the May Day fight approaches all eyes will be on Robert Guerrero and Floyd Mayweather Jr. but the head of Golden Boy Promotions, Oscar De La Hoya, is already looking toward the next mega fight.

In the video below De La Hoya discusses tonight’s fight and the possibility of the winner fighting Canelo Alvarez in the fall. Alvarez is the new “it” fighter and many believe that his skill trumps Floyd’s n many aspects, especially given Floyd’s age.

Amir Khan is the other name mentioned by Oscar in the interview and no doubt Khan’s recent fights have made him a go to attraction. His jaw is questionable at best and his mouth can sell even the blandest of fight cards. He may not be half the fighter of Canelo but he has the potential to bring in twice the revenue.

Take a look at De La Hoya’s pre-fight interview below:

  1. May weather would destroy Khan! It would be a waste of Mayweather’s time to fight Khan. Besides, Khan lost two straight fights, one was to Lamont Peterson.
