What would you do if your favorite athlete showed up to your High School prom?
Thanks to Fox Sports, Dwyane Wade made a young girls dream come true. Last month High Schooler Nicole Muxo released a YouTube video asking Dwyane Wade to her senior prom at Archbishop Coleman Carroll High School in Miami, Fla. Of course, Wade never responded to her… that was until he showed up unannounced to her prom Friday night.
what a night… More pics from@nicole_muxo prom…oh yea I was there 2… Her date and her best friends.
D. Wade did something really amazing. Athletes don’t know how much they influence kids and how the small things can change lives and bring happiness. All an athlete has to do is spend a few hours or an evening with a fan to make a difference, it was being a true star is all about.
CANNOT BELIEVE THIS JUST HAPPENED! THANK YOU SO MUCH@dwyanewade FOR COMING TO MY PROM AND MAKING MY DREAMS COME TRUE
I know she dropped her prom date QUICK when Wade walked through that door.
Here is how Wade said it happened.
Nicole Muxo, a senior at Archbishop Coleman Carroll High School in Miami, asked Wade to her school’s prom on April 20 via a YouTube video. Somewhere along the line, Wade decided to take her up on it.
But even Muxo was surprised by his appearance. Wade explains how it all unfolded to WSVN-TV in Miami:
“She actually DM’d me on Twitter and said, ‘This is the address, this is where I’m gonna be just in case,’ and when I got that I said I won’t be doing nothing tomorrow night and I can go and make this a memorable moment for her,” said Wade.
Very cool on Wade’s part and thankfully he didn’t wear the Capris.
