Mayweather breaks the news himself that he will be fighting Canelo Alvarez on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
This comes on the cusp of Alvarez saying he wouldn’t fight Mayweather at anything below Junior Middleweight 154 pound limit. Canelo budged a little bit and that was enough to get a deal done.
Biggest fight that can be made.
I chose my opponent for September 14th and it's Canelo Alvarez. I'm giving the fans what they want. It will be at the MGM Grand.

Just like 44 others, Canelo says he will be the first to crack the Mayweather code.
“I’m very excited. This is the fight I have wanted for a while,” Alvarez told ESPN.com from the Golden Boy Promotions offices in Los Angeles after signing his contract. “It’s been talked about for a while now, and now that it’s signed, sealed and delivered, I am very happy.
“I will be the first to beat Floyd.”
