One of the reasons I thought LeBron James should have been the Defensive Player of the Year, was because he can defend all five positions on the court.
That is very rare for any player to do. He is also burden at times with having to slow down a team’s top scorer. So, he is having to defend the likes of Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and etc. These aren’t easy tasks, but one that LeBron has no problem taking.
Even if that means chasing down Lil Nate Robinson.
LeBron James said it wouldn’t be a surprise if he ended up guarding Nate Robinsonin Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Wednesday after Robinson scored a game-high 27 points in the Bulls’ Game 1 win.
“It wouldn’t be a surprise if I matched up with him,” James said Tuesday. “But I’ll take the challenge on (defense).”
If there is one thing Nate Robinson can do it’s score and with all the injuries the Bulls have, they need every point he can give them. It would be very interesting to see LeBron trying to slow him down.
