Last week we reported that Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski, was thinking about backing out of his mini-retirement from coaching the USA Basketball Team.

Well, according to Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated, Krzyzewski is expected to announce his return soon.

Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski will be returning as the head coach of USA Basketball for the 2016 Olympics, according to a source with direct knowledge of the situation. A formal announcement is expected in the next 48 hours.

Coach K has led the Team USA for close to a decade, has a 62-1 record over that time and is coming off winning gold medals in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics. He will coach the team in next year’s FIBA World Championship and the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games.
