Call this a practical joke gone terribly…stupid.
Two 20-year-old Massachusetts men were charged with intentionally intercepting a wire communication and also with making a phone call without disclosing their identity with the intent to annoy or harass the person called.
In this case the people called were ex Bills GM Buddy Nix and Buccaneers GM Mark Dominek. The two ‘geniuses’ sold the phone recording conversation to Deadspin, after they called the GM’s disguised as one another and then listened on as the two men divulged some very inside information. Of which included plans to release Ryan Fitzpatrick.
The two pranksters in question are Nicholas Kaiser and Joshua Barber, they now face up to 5 years in prison and a fine of $500,000.
At the time the prank seemed funny enough with folks giggling at how unsuspecting the two GMs were of the prank. But now the joke is on both pranksters.
They literally framed themselves. Cant make this up.
