Adrian Peterson Says Taking Shower With Gay Teammate Would Be Uncomfortable

Adrian Peterson is trying to give a politically correct answer, even though it is obvious he has issues with homosexuality. Peterson said he is against gay marriage, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he wasn’t that keen on having a gay teammate.  He can’t say that though, because the media will jump all down his throat, even if he is being honest.

The star Minnesota Vikings running back told The Oklahoman on Monday that having a gay teammate “really wouldn’t bother me that much.”

He, however, admitted to the newspaper that having to take showers with a gay teammate would make him uncomfortable.

“Simple things, as far as showers and things like that, you know, of course, anyone would be uncomfortable. But you know, I’m a grown man. There are things that I can deal with. I’m comfortable in my skin,” he told the newspaper.

“I’ll still high-five them. Pat them on the butt when he’s doing good, and go on about my business.”

The reason for the contradictory answers is because Peterson is carefully trying to avoid any backlash.  His reputation is as such that he won’t be made to apologize like Mike Wallace.  I didn’t think Wallace should have had to apologize, but that just shows the hypocrisy in the media and with fans.

If you look at the comments separately, Wallace saying he doesn’t understand homosexuality because there are so many beautiful women in the world and Peterson saying he wouldn’t feel comfortable showering with them.  Both comments that a lot of people think, but just would never say publicly.

That’s why you should come to your own conclusions and not just follow the mob mentality when it comes to judging people.

  • It’s more than likely that he already has taken a shower with a gay teammate. Whether it be at the high school, college or pro level.

  • Nothin wrong with what Peterson or Wallace said. Their not anti gay slurs, they are just comments on how they feel. Its crazy how sensitive the media a public is now about the word “gay” or “homo” and if someone says something that may not be 100% polictically correct they have to apologize and tweet Jason Collins…come on you cant expect everyone to embrace fully. As long as their cordial and treat ppl with respect gay or straight then thats all that matters

  • Newsflash, Purple Jesus: The odds are YOU HAVE showered with a gay man. The odds are good that said gay man has checked out DAT A$$, if just to say that he did.

If this is the kind of thing that could get in your head, it’s time to start calling ESPN about that NFL Gameday gig.
