During Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins, forward Patrice Bergeron, sustained injuries that were so serious, he had to be hospitalized.
Being one of the Bruins best players and unarguably their best performer throughout the playoffs, Bergeron felt compelled to suit up for Game 6, with the team covering up the details of his injury to protect him.
Well, it was to no avail as the Bruins succumbed to a late onslaught by the Blackhawks, a team that won its second Stanley Cup in the last four years. And according to Joe Haggerty of CSN, Bergeron’s injuries were pretty bad.

Hockey dudes are legit tough, they don’t even bat an eyelid when they get their teeth knocked out, so this isn’t entirely shocking but it is definitely admirable.
I would feel bad for Bergeron, but he was solely responsible for sending the Maple Leafs home in the most devastating way possible in Game 7 of the first round.
