New York Yankees fans are used to a certain brand of baseball that includes a lot of home runs and scoring and they haven’t been getting that with this season’s version of the Bronx Bombers.
The Yankees have been forced to field a lineup stacked with inadequate hitters due to a litany of devastating injuries to key players, but it seems like the fans won’t be tolerating any excuses, as attendance and TV ratings have suffered because of the poor product on the field.
Evidence of that was on display today as the Bombers took on the Los Angeles Dodgers, and as you can see the turnout wasn’t good for a game that has a lot of intriguing storylines including the return of former Yankees player and coach Don Mattingly, and the ballpark debut of everyone’s favorite rookie Yasiel Puig.
This form of silent protest may force the organization into making some much-needed moves before season’s end.
