The Florida State Seminoles football program almost went a whole off-season without any major off the field issues. Almost is not enough.
Thacover2 is reporting that Seminoles wide receiver Greg Dent was arrested and booked on allegations of sexual assault Sunday night.
Dent was charged Sunday night with sexual assault on a person over the age of 12 years old, according to the Leon County Sherrif’s Office online booking detail.
The statute: “A person who commits sexual battery upon a person 12 years of age or older, without that person’s consent, and in the process thereof does not use physical force and violence likely to cause serious personal injury commits a felony of the second degree.”
Dent’s attorney, Tim Jansen, told the Orlando Sentinel that his client will make his first court appearance at the Leon County Courthouse at 8:30 a.m. Monday. A bond amount will be set.
The 23-year-old Dent, is a Belle Glade, Fla. native and a redshirt senior this fall, caught 27 passes for 355 yards and two touchdowns for Florida State in 2012.
