There has always been that one age-old question when it came to sports. What is the most difficult thing to do in all of sports?
Is it playing the back nine in golf, hitting a baseball, playing quarterback in the NFL, being a point guard in the NBA, what is the most difficult thing in sports to do.
You’ll be surprised by Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz’ answer. According to the Lions head man in charge, it’s definitely playing cornerback in the NFL.
“It’s tough to play corner (in the NFL),” Schwartz said Sunday, via DetroitLions.com. “I think it’s probably the most difficult thing to do in all of sports.
“You have to run with world-class receivers, you’ve got to start backwards and they’re going forward. They know where they’re running, you don’t. You’ve got to be tough enough to take on pulling guards and running backs and skilled enough and fast enough to cover the elite athletes, you know, guys that are Olympic-caliber speed.”
There are a ton of difficult things to do in sports, but being a former defensive player myself, running backwards trying to cover a talented receiver running 100 mph at you is not for the faint of heart.
It may not be the most difficult thing to do, but it’s top five in my opinion.
