Kentucky Offers Scholarship To 7th Grade Football Recruit Jairus Brents
The Kentucky Wildcats football program has jumped into the fray of offering scholarships to middle school prospects.
Thacover2 is reporting that Kentucky has offered a scholarship to Jairus Brents, a cornerback from the state of Indiana, heading into the 8th grade.
“It’s not a big deal. It’s just an offer,” Brents said.
“It’s a good accomplishment, but I’m focusing on being the best cornerback ever and working hard.”
Universities cannot make handwritten offers to prospective recruits until their senior year, but can make all the verbal offers they want.
The 5-foot-8, 152-pound Brents reportedly was matched up with wide receivers at the Kentucky camp who are going to be Seniors this fall, and sources say he dominated quite a few.
I think the fact that Brents is so highly regarded, and even regarded above some recruits the wildcats plan to have on the roster this fall, tells you everything you need to know about where Kentucky is in regards to being a top football program.
2018 is a long way off, and if Brents turns into the player people expect him to be, I can’t see him even considering Kentucky over Alabama or LSU.Powered by Sidelines
