LeBron James is facing quite the conundrum entering tonight’s game 2 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs.
James is supposed to be apart of the Miami Heats big three, but lately his circumstances have been reminiscent of his days in Cleveland when he had to do everything to carry the team.
According to Yahoo Sports, James is now hearing criticism for going scoreless for a six-minute stretch in the fourth quarter of the Heats game one loss to the Spurs.
Those same critics are calling on LeBron to do more to help his team. LeBron of course has a short message for those critics, ”I’ve done more and lost before.”
No, I can’t get involved in that honestly, because I’ve done more and lost before,” LeBron said Saturday after practice. “I mean we played Orlando, when I was in Cleveland we played Orlando in the Eastern Conference Finals and I think I averaged 38, 36, or whatever I averaged (38.5 in the 2009 series). I guess I should have done more in that series as well. But I can’t.”
James made it known that he doesn’t read what is written about him.
”I wish we could go 16-0 in the playoffs,” James said. ”That would be awesome. There’s challenges that come from the game. You learn from game to game in ways that you can get better. I want to win just as bad as anyone. I’m going to put myself and my team in a position to win. I have to try to make the plays. I can’t worry about if people are saying, ‘You should have done more, you should have been more aggressive’ because you got a loss.”
