Mayweather Canelo 3

To quickly explain what “live gate” means, it is the amount of ticket sales sold for a fight. Because Mayweather vs. Alvarez tickets prices are so high and they have already sold out they can predict approximately what the live gate amount will be.

The previous record was held by Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya back in 2007. It had a gate of $18,419,200. Mayweather vs. Alvarez is projected to be close to $19 million according to Golden Boy Promotions chief executive Richard Schaefer.

The All-Time PPV record is 2.4 million also held by Mayweather and De La Hoya, we will see if they get close to that. A lot of people going to be adding to their riches after this fight.
