Rajon Rondo is one of the best point guards in all of basketball, but he’s also one of the most misunderstood as well. Rondo is vigorously rehabbing from his torn ACL, but still has time for a game of connect four.
A big part of dealing with the basketball genius that is Rajon Rondo is also acknowledging the difficulties of coaching him. Rondo is aware of the perception that surrounds him, and during a conversation on redbull.com, admitted that he’s not easy to coach.
I still am. It’s not that I’m hard to coach, it’s just that I may challenge what you say. I know the game myself, I’m out there playing the game. So I may have saw something different versus what you saw from the sideline. I’m going to be respectable. I’m going to let the coach talk.”
The fact that Rondo really does know the game of basketball makes whatever difficulties you get with him worth it. He’s simply a guy that might want to know why he’s asked to do something, or why a new wrinkle was added to a play.
