The Cardinals took a risk drafting Ryan Swope, with his concussion issues. Now, according to the official Arizona Cardinals website, Swope was placed on the reserved-retired list. Swope stated that he feels well, but after several evaluations it was determined that his long-term health was the most important thing.
Reports stated that Swope suffered at least two concussions while at Texas A&M, where he is the All-Time leader with 252 receptions for 3,117 yards and 15 career 100-yard receiving games.
The Cardinals and the doctors did the right thing. Swope knew this was a possibility and you can wish him nothing but the best in his post-football life.
