Chris Cooley was definitely a different type of character for the Redskins as a tight end, and it will be interesting to see what type of character he is off the field now.
Around The League is reporting that Cooley has announced his retirement today from the NFL, and will join the Redskins radio team.
Cooley was a two-time Pro Bowl tight end, and played nine seasons in Washington.
He was cut before training camp last season but later re-joined the team during the year.
Cooley stated several times this off-season, that he was only interested in returning to the field if it was for the Redskins. The Skins found a better role for Cooley on the broadcast team.
