It was just a matter of where Garza would land.
The Cubs have traded the RHP Matt Garza to the Texas Rangers in exchange for 5 prospects, including a 3rd baseman and two righty pitchers, plus two players who’ve yet to be named.
The deal is pending physicals for all those apart of it. Speculation over Garza reached a fever pitch when he was scratched off Monday’s lineup against the Diamondbacks.
Garza has been on the trading block since last year, and after a series of injuries the vet emerged to be one of the hottest in the game. He goes to the Rangers boasting a 6-1 record and 3.17 ERA.
Does the pickup automatically boost the Rangers chances of winning the pennant?
