Who would’ve thought Jeter would solve the Yankees power hitting problems?
Call it a flair for the dramatic or just a little magic, Derek Jeter never disappoints. Today, we reported that he would make his return to the Yankees after a short trip to the DL following his season debut.
Almost as expected, Jeter came up at bat and hit the ball square on the first pitch he saw off Rays LHP Matt Moore and it rocketed off into the stands. The crowd went wild and just like that, a nightmarish season for the historic franchise got some much needed life.
Prior to the Jeter homer the Yankees hadn’t hit one since the All Star Break.
That’s why he’s the captain.
