Greg Oden is trying to make another comeback, and he’s hoping his body will hold up, and allow him the opportunity to flash some signs of what made him the #1 overall pick just a few years back.
Oden has reportedly looked good, and according to one scout, could do big things for the Heat. Tim Hardaway, no not that Tim Hardaway, is a lead scout for the Heat, and told Fox Sports South that “if the Heat sign Oden, they’ll win a third straight championship.”
The Heat remain committed to going after free-agent center Greg Oden, who is expected to make a decision soon. Miami coach Erik Spoelstra and vice president of player personnel Chet Kammerer observed Oden in a workout last week in his hometown of Indianapolis.
“If we get Greg Oden, I think we will win a third (straight) title,” Heat scout Tim Hardaway said in an interview with FOX Sports Florida on Saturday.
Oden hasn’t played in an NBA game since 2009 due to knee injuries. You have to wonder if Oden wants the pressure of manning the middle for the Heat, and if he’ll choose to play somewhere in a rebuilding situation.
