Should Tigers fans start to panic?
Tigers slugger, and arguably the best player in the sport, Miguel Cabrera, missed his 4th straight game on Friday due to lingering soreness stemming from an injury on his left hip flexor.
Ramon Santiago played third base for Cabrera, as the Tigers handed the Phillies their 6th straight L. Tigers continue to hold a 3 game lead over the Cleveland Indians, despite Cabrera’s absence.
Good news for the Tigers, Cabrera has reported improvement in his hip and was available to pinch hit if the need arises. Currently his status is still in the air, and the Tigers are in no rush to bring him back until he’s totally discomfort free.
The Tigers are smart for not moving to speed ‘Miggy’ back, as the Tigers usually start to pull away in the 2nd half of the year. A few days off should help him return strong.
