The Buckeye Nation may be able to breathe a sigh of relief after all.
Thacover2 is reporting that surveillance video from Sugar Bar 2 appears clear Ohio State running back Carlos Hyde of assault charges against a cops daughter early Saturday morning.
The woman punched him in the face, but it appears Hyde never made contact with her.
Sources say that the video shows Carlos Hyde speaking in the direction of the alleged victim just prior to her punching him in the head.
The video reportedly then shows Hyde trying to leave the area and reaching back in the woman’s direction in a non-confrontational manner.
Reports say that according to the video, it doesn’t appear Hyde ever made contact with the woman, either before or after she struck him, the source said.
The Columbus Police Department declined comment on the continuing investigation.
Hyde’s alleged victim actually filed a police report Saturday, claiming she had been assaulted by an unknown man.
Hyde was suspended indefinitely on Monday pending the outcome of the investigation, but reports say Hyde could be back with the team shortly.
If this report is true, Hyde will be owed an apologies by a few people who rushed to judgement apparently.
