You learn something new everyday.

When Metta World Peace was searching for a team to sign with after being amnestied by L.A., he briefly considered signing with the disciplined and boring San Antonio Spurs.

Wow, I can only imagine World Peace and Popovich interacting on the bench, but according to reports, it almost happened.

According Project Spurs via Daniel Artest, World Peace and Popovich had a mutual interest in one another.

“I finally met Popovich, told him I was a big Spurs fan and he said he always liked Ron on his team,’’ Artest said. “I relayed the message, tried to convince [World Peace], but my brother didn’t believe me.’’

That would have been some huddle.  I get the feeling though World Peace would have actually responded to Pop.
