According to a report via Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the Sacramento Kings have traded former first-round pick Tyreke Evans, to the New Orleans Pelicans, in a trade that also involves the Portland Trailblazers.
As part of a sign-and-trade arrangement, Evans will come to the Pelicans on a four-year, $44 million contract. New Orleans will send guard Greivis Vasquez to the Kings and center Robin Lopez to the Trail Blazers, sources said.
Portland will send future draft considerations and cash in the deal, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
This seems like a pretty solid trade for all involved. The Kings didn’t want to match the offer sheet given to Evans by the Pelicans, so they were willing to work out a deal that would see them obtain some assets.
The Pelicans now possess quite an intriguing 3-man backcourt with Evans joining the recently acquired Jrue Holiday and Eric Gordon. Their team name is still highly amusing though.
